heatwave expo stand in milan by jaga

Jaga presented the heatwave in Milan this year in an impressive stand. It took a long time to get the central heating radiator in production, but they did a great job. The stand was designed by Tony Michiels and Dries Verbruggen. The polygon shape is a supersized part of the Heatwave radiator, so basically you walk around inside the Heatwave. As you can see we also had a real belgian chocolate factory producing chocolate radiators!

Ideal house Cologne 2006

Following on from the successful creations presented by the designers in recent years – Constantin Grcic, Karim Rashid, Bouroullec brothers, Campana Brothers, Hella Jongerius and Patricia Urquiola – at imm cologne 2006 the german design council asked me to do one of the Ideal houses for the international furniture fair IMM cologne. Next to Stefan Diez and Astrid Krogh I made my interpretation of what would be my ideal house. The other house was done by the old master of technical minimalism Dieter Rams (Braun).

We ended up in a totally different setting than the years before which made it very difficult but also very interesting in my opinion. I tried do make an intervention that was not only about an ideal but also reacted on the actual situation, the surrounding, the fairground.

Ivy installation at smalle haven !!

Recently Ivy is installed as an alternative stair for the Smalle haven appartment complex in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. Owner wooninc. asked me to do an installation in the entrance of the building and Ivy was just perfect for it. The entrance is ten meters high and two meters wide. Now people can use it instead of the elevator or stairs to break with their daily boring route that was set out for them and at the same time excersice.

If you are interested in Ivy or would like to purchase it please send an email to sales@jorislaarman.com
