Wall Street Innovation Award (2011)
In 2011 we were informed that we were in the race for a Wall Street Journal Award in the category Design. What followed was a turn of events that in and of itself is worth mentioning. Sometime before the announcement of the winners, we were also asked whether we wanted to design the awards. Given our experiments with voxels for the Digital Matter project, we soon had a beautiful design in mind. We then came to the point where we had to attach the nameplates of all the winners – and our own name was included . . .
It was a memorable evening in New York, with our newborn daughter Charlie sleeping in the Museum of Modern Art during the awards ceremony. Since then, the awards have been presented several times and we are proud that our work has ended up in all these prominent cultural figures’ vitrines.
